Rural Agro-Economic And Food Security Project-Singbhum
The Programmes that were accompished from 1st April 2007 to 31st March 2008 are as follows.
1.Leadership Training-A training for the village Women’s Committee leaders was organized from 26th to 29th September 2007.This was organized at Kolkata.30 village Animators and volunteers took part in this training.The resource persons explained the concept of leadership and how it needs to be implemented at the village level.
The training gave the participants an opportunity to evaluate their field areas and activities as a leader of his/her group.
2.Management Level Training-A training for the management level staff took place 5th to 8th June 2007.5 Management level staff took part in this training.The training took place in New Jalpaiguri.The management training dealt with improvement of task force of the management staff.
3.Agriculture Training-An Agriculture Development Training was organized from 14th to 18th May 2007 at Ghatsila in Nawabkothi Garden Guest House.49 participants from the field level were present for the training.The agricultural processes for various vegetables,suitable for the Jharkhand type of soil was discussed.4 Agro Training took place in different villages.

4.Animal Husbandry Training- A 5 day long training based on Animal Husbandry was organized at Ghatsila from 15th to 19th June 2007.51 participants took part in the animal husbandry training gaining detailed knowledge on animal care.The objective of the training was to provide Livestock support.As a follow-up 3 training took place at village level.

5.Good Governance Meet- A Good Governance Meet was organized at Bonkuchia on 24th June 2007.Total number of participants present were 108.Total 8 Good Governance Meet took place in different villages.A booklet on Good Governance has also been prepared and Good Governance Meets are effective tool of empowering local people,especially women.

6.Gender Meet-A meet on Gender issue with stress on women’s Empowerment took place on 26th June 2007 at Geruala.38 participants were present.7 Gender Issue Meets were organized in different villages to raise the awareness level among women in issues related to gender justice and equality.

7.Food Processing Training-A Food Processing Training was organized from 25th to 27th June 2007 in Ghatsila.21 participants took part in this training.These participants were given intense training on items that can be preserved like dry sweets,biscuits,salted cookies.
8.GBP Larger Forum Meet-The Larger Forum meet of the Jharkhand GBP partners took place in Ghatsila organized by SwadhinaThis was organized on 24th and 25th May 2007at Nawab Kothi,Ghatsila.The forum meet was attended by the implementing partners of the Jharkhand GAA partners like CWS,IGSSS,FORRAD,GAA-India..

9.Resource Management Trg-A training on Resource Management was organized from 11th to 13th of May2007.This was organized at Bondih.A booklet on the issue was also published and circulated among the participants.

10.Agro-Technology Trg.-From 7th to 9th May 2007 a detailed training on pumpset repair,agro-equipment repair was imparted to a selected number of local youth at Bondih.A second training on agro-technology was conducted at Ghatsila from 10th to 12th July 07.16 participants took part in this training programme.

General Programmes
1. Annual General Meeting(AGM)-On 23rd August 2007 Annual General Meeting was held in Kolkata.
2.Anandam Programme-From 23rd to 26th August 2007 Swadhina Annual Gathering ‘Anandam’was organized at Kokata.39 participants from all over India,from Swadhina working areas took part in th annual gathering.The representatives from each area shared their view points and the activities from their respective area.
3.Fellowship Programme-On 17th November 2007 Fellowship programme was held in Kolkata (Y.M.C.A).
4.Annual theme Orientation Programme-A GAA workshop on nutrition was held in Delhi from 26th to28th November 2007.Smriti Sarkar from Swadhina participated in the same.The workshop gave fresh insights on the issue of nutrition.
6.Ribbon Distribution-On 25th November Ribbon distributed as symbolic expression of 16 Days Activisim Against Gender Violence in Midnapore.
7.16 Days Programme-A Programme organized by Swadhina on16 Days Activisim Against Gender Violence on 8th December in Y.M.C.A (Kokata) commemorating also Human Rights Day.Total 48 participation was present on that day.
